This is a second part of the Lempäälä tour. While I drove from Lempäälä to Kylmäkoski in previous video, this time I drive regional road 190 in opposite direction.
Lempäälä is a vibrant municipality in the Pirkanmaa region of southern Finland, located just 15 kilometers south of Tampere. With a population of around 24,000, it offers a unique blend of natural beauty, historical charm, and modern convenience. The town is nestled between two lakes—Vanajavesi and Pyhäjärvi—and its center is situated on an island, giving it a picturesque and tranquil atmosphere. Lempäälä is known for its lush forests, scenic waterways, and extensive outdoor recreation opportunities, making it a haven for nature lovers and active families. One of its most prominent attractions is Ideapark, one of the largest shopping centers in the Nordic countries, which draws visitors from across the region with its wide array of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options. The municipality also boasts a rich cultural heritage, with landmarks such as the medieval Lempäälä Church and the historic Hakkari Manor offering glimpses into its past. Despite its peaceful setting, Lempäälä is well-connected by road and rail, making it an ideal location for commuters working in Tampere or Helsinki. The community is known for its strong local identity, active civic life, and commitment to sustainability and innovation. Educational institutions, sports facilities, and cultural events contribute to a high quality of life, while ongoing development projects aim to enhance infrastructure and services. Whether you're drawn by its serene lakeside views, dynamic shopping experiences, or welcoming community spirit, Lempäälä offers a compelling mix of rural charm and urban accessibility. It’s a place where tradition meets progress, and where residents enjoy both the tranquility of nature and the conveniences of modern living.
