So, I have driven past this place quite often, when I go to visit friends in the Capitol area. I like to drive winding roads in the countryside as those offer more landscape than driving on the highway roads.
Regional road 127 is a road in Pusula, Lohja, Finland. It starts from the village of Hyönölä and leads to Ikkala. The road is approximately ten kilometers long and is an old countryside road. It’s considered a traditional countryside road, offering scenic views of rural Finland.
And it surely does deliver that traditional countryside road scenic. While I was driving to the Capitol area, which I usually drive by regional road 280, where this starts, I decided to take a detour and drive all the way to National Road 3, kind of. So, first I had to take this regional road 127 to Ryökkö, which is part of the Pusula area, in Lohja. Ryökkö offers a peaceful rural atmosphere, ideal for nature lovers and those seeking tranquility. It’s part of the historical Pusula parish, which has deep roots in Finnish cultural heritage
Pusula was its own municipality until 1981, when it merged with Nummi to form Nummi-Pusula. In 2013, it became part of Lohja. Currently, the population is around 741 residents as of 2020. It is nestled near Lake Pusula (Pusulanjärvi), offering scenic lakeside views. This not to be confused with Lake Pusula (Pusulanjärvi) in Somero.
